#4 It’s the Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown (1974)
One of the Epic Easter Movie Ever for Kids is It’s the Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown.
Parents need to know that It’s Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown combines the subtle and ageless humor of Peanuts creator Charles Schulz, and is suitable for all ages.
Although it focuses on an important Christian holiday, there is no real description of faith, just more secular traditions like trying on Easter hats and dyeing Easter eggs. Though the typical hound brightens most people on Easter morning, poor old Charlie Brown is left alone.
The movie story: With IT’S THE EASTER BEAGLE, CHARLIE BROWN, creator Charles Schulz targets holiday consumerism just like he did in the more known A Charlie Brown Christmas. This time the Peanuts gang is ready for Easter; Peppermint Patty (voiced by Linda Ercoli) is determined to show off the art of dyeing Easter eggs with her friend Marcie (Jimmy Ahrens), who seems destined to stop any attempt.
Linus (Stephen Shea) turned his beliefs from The Great Pumpkin to Easter Beagle, whom he promised to make Easter special for them all. And Lucy (Melanie Kohn) believes this holiday should be about “beginning”, a misunderstanding underpinned by scenes in department stores that have been decorated for the Christmas holiday.
