Multiplication Games for kids

  • Solve one-step problems involving multiplication, by calculating the answer using concrete objects and pictorial presentations.
  • Use multiplication within 100 to solve word problems
  • Interpret products of whole numbers, e.g., interpret 5 x 7 as the total number of objects in 5 groups of 7 objects each. For example, describe a context in which a total number of objects can be expressed as 5 x 7.
  • Use multiplication facts for the 2, 5 and 10 multiplication tables, including recognizing odd and even numbers.
  • Show that multiplication of two numbers can be done in any order (commutative).
  • Multiply two-digit and three-digit numbers by a one-digit number using formal written layout.
  • Interpret a multiplication equation as a comparison, e.g., interpret 35 = 5 x 7 as a statement that 35 is 5 times as many as 7 and 7 times as many as 5.
